Sensum can provide energy performance certificates for any type of commercial building. At present we don't offer EPCs for new buildings. We are accredited for domestic properties so are able to assess mixed-use properties.

For smaller properties we aim to inspect the premises in the morning and produce the EPC in the afternoon so that you get your certificate within 24 hours. If an afternoon inspection suits you better, we would produce the EPC the next day. For larger properties the process may take longer but we do aim to produce the EPC the day after inspection.

In addition to your EPC, you will get a report giving recommendations as to how energy efficiency may be improved. Recommendations are split into three groups according to how long the measures would take to pay for themselves: less than 3 years, 3-7 years and more than 7 years. This report is generated automatically by the software used to produce the EPC and is edited by the assessor. Where further clarification is needed, the assessor will give you some extra information in a letter or email accompanying the EPC and recommendations report. We also supply a set of charts which show your estimated energy consumption and CO2 emissions.

We will send your EPC and accompanying reports and information to you by email. The files are all produced in pdf format. We can also send paper copies to you by request.

Before the EPC is formally issued, we can provide you with a draft report and suggest changes you could make to improve your rating at the lowest cost. If you choose to make changes, the assessor will return to confirm them before issuing the EPC.
